Wind energy projects in New York state

According to recent press reports:

Noble Environmental Power takes Clinton and Ellenburg (Clinton County) turbines offline to adjust substation and bring Chateaugay (Franklin County) turbines online.  Press Republican, 11/14.

Lowville (Lewis County), home to NY State’s largest wind farm, discusses revision of zoning ordinance relating to wind facilities large and small. Watertown Daily Times, 11/17.

Six-month wind development moratorium approved in the Town of Throop (Cayuga County). The Citizen, 11/13.

Reduced Jordanville wind project (Towns of Warren and Stark in Herkimer County) discussed at Town meeting. Freeman’s Journal, 11/14.

And finally, in the humans-come-up-with-the-darnedest-ideas department, let’s welcome a not-so-dazzling (the article’s point, not mine) billboard to Times Square in New York City functioning exclusively on wind and solar power. Chattahbox, 11/17. Go figure.
