New York State Energy Board

The New York State Energy Board has launched a website detailing its planning process to develop by June 30, 2009, a new state energy plan that will, broadly speaking:

keep New York at the forefront among the states in providing its residents with reliable, economical, and clean energy resources.

Wind energy is mentioned in the draft scope as one of the items to be included in an Energy Infrastructure Needs Issue Brief.

The State Energy Board is chaired by Paul A. DeCotis, Deputy Secretary for Energy. A draft scope of the state energy plan is here. The State Energy Board is in the process, through July 8, of collecting comments on the Plan’s scope through meetings and the website. Individuals may leave comments on the state energy plan scope here. Additionally, individuals can receive email updates about the state energy plan by visiting here.

The State Energy Board kicked off on May 6.
